As Arlo’s now approaching 20 months (where has my baby gone?!) I am starting to encourage him to play in his room more. I think most parents can agree that when you have kids, they sort of start to take over the majority of the house… But as part of getting him in his room more, I’ve began adding some new decor and styling it to make it a practical, fun space for Arlo to come and play in.
Having shelves was essential for housing a few of his favourite books and his name train. I love the colour of our 3-Level Shelving System. There are lots of different green tones in his bedroom and I was really pleased to find shelves of a similar colour as usually a lot of stores are quite basic with only white or wood shelves to choose from.
It was really simple to mound to the wall and the wood boards are removable so you don’t have to have all three if you don’t wish to.
The style isn’t just for a toddler and means it’s the kind of furniture that will grow and adapt with your child.
From toys, books and teddies you can put anything you want on them and I chose to put his new Cactus Light Up Cushion on the top shelf.
This is such a lovely little cushion to have on display, especially when it’s lit up in the evening. It’s actually no longer being stocked on Vertbaudet’s website but here is a link to similar light-up cushions on their site.
Again, I don’t think its a soft furnishing just for Arlo’s age group, I think it will also work in his bedroom as he gets older… or if he no longer wants it, it’s one I would even style in the living room.
We aren’t short of cuddly toys in our house and now we have somewhere to store them (well, some!) Carrying on the cactus theme, this storage basket has a deep space inside perfect for his cuddly toys.
It features two handles, one on each side making it really easy to carry and the quality of the material is great. Really strong and sturdy which is perfect for Arlo to drag around and get all of his toys in and out of.
Arlo’s room isn’t huge but it’s still a good size space for him and we have got it looking that extra bit cosy with his new Pirate Map rug.
Perfect to park his car and play with his toys on, this mat is a great way for your little one to start learning the different seas and continents.
I love the bright colours and Arlo has already began showing an interest in it, pointing to the different pirate symbols and animals. We have carpeted floors, but this mat would look just as good on wooden too. It’s a really great size and has become a real feature in his room!
I wouldn’t say Arlo’s room is going in the direction of having a theme, but I am loving our new bits from Vertbaudet that have all found their place nicely in our home.
I was so impressed with the quality as that’s one of the most important things I look out for, having furniture and decor that is safe and sturdy for Arlo. Go to www.vertbaudet.co.uk.
