No, I’m not pregnant! I originally wrote this for The Bamboo Baby Company  but wanted to share as these were five of must-haves I particularly found useful during my pregnancy!

Sometimes we can get so wrapped up in everything we need for our baby’s arrival that we forget that while we grow our tiny little bundle of joy, we need looking after too.

Pregnancy is an exciting time but it’s not always easy. The good news is that there are few must-haves out there to help you along the way to meeting your baby.

Here I have compiled a list of pregnancy essentials that you didn’t know you needed, until now…

2. Pregnancy journal

4. What to drink

Make sure you are getting enough fluid during pregnancy. Increase your fluid intake during pregnancy with herbal teas, milk and fresh fruit juices.

For pregnant women, it’s extremely important to stay hydrated. Water in particular helps to form the placenta which is what your baby relies on to receive nutrients during pregnancy.

Aside from the water, here are other fluids that you can’t get enough of during pregnancy…

Milk and other dairy foods are good sources of calcium which is important as it helps your unborn baby’s developing bones form properly.

Fresh fruit juice which contain lots of antioxidants and are a great source of essential vitamins such a vitamin C, great for a healthy pregnancy.

Herbal & fruit teas Replacing drinks such as coffee with herbal teas will also help you to reduce how much caffeine you drink. Raspberry tea leaf is a popular choice with a lot of women during pregnancy.

5. Meet new mama’s & mama’s to be! 

Pregnancy is the perfect time to start meeting new mums and mums to be. It’s normal to feel isolated and maybe even lonely during pregnancy and the early weeks with your newborn. It’s also normal to feel that you won’t or can’t meet any mama’s but that’s why mum apps are great!
